Ninian and Ann Stewart-Moore ambition from the beginning was to start growing their own food from garden/paddock to plate and to follow a less demanding lifestyle. This was achieved by planting an olive grove closely followed by a small parcel of wine grapes.

Makersville – where it all began
Hi, I’m Karen and together with my husband David we’ve created Makersville, where we celebrate our love of handmade and the amazing creative talents of Australian artists and makers. Through Makersville we provide our customers with the opportunity to purchase something a little bit special for someone dear or for themselves – handmade treasures to look at, use or wear, and hopefully to enjoy for many years.

In 2010 we purchased Tasmanian Woollen Co, found at 69 Salamanca Place Battery Point and over the next five years we have tweaked it and the premises till we have our current look and name.
