The Petite Rose Hat features a two-colour striped design and is constructed using reverse stocking stitch. A pretty knitted rose may be sewn on for a romantic touch. This is an easy project for someone who has basic knitting skills including casting on, k2, p2 ribbing, decreasing and seaming.
The Petite Rose Hat is made using our wonderfully soft and lustrous Prima Kid Silk yarn which knits up to around a 5ply/Sportweight equivalent. It has two strands of the softest Kid Mohair and Merino blend imaginable twisted loosely around a silk core thread. Our model is wearing Cols. #12 Fuchsia and #15 Lotus. Description
Pattern Notes:
The Petite Rose Hat is worked flat; ie. knit back and forth from side to side and is seamed once knitting is completed.
Size: It is designed to fit children and adults alike and instructions for three sizes, Small, Medium and Large are included in this pattern.
To fit head circumference Small 47cm; Medium 53cm and Large 58 cm. The finished hat measures approximately 5cm less than these measurements to ensure a snug fit. Our model is wearing size Medium.
This project is assumes you have knowledge of the following skills: Casting on; K2 P2 rib; decreasing and seaming.
To complete the Petite Rose Hat you will need:
Yarn:
COL B: 1 (1, 1) skein of Rosabella Prima Kid Silk yarn (60% Kid; 25% Silk; 15% Merino) approx 72m per 25g.
COL A: 1 (1, 2) skeins of Rosabella Prima Kid Silk yarn (60% Kid; 25% Silk; 15% Merino) approx 72m per 25g.
Needles & Notions: 1 pair 3.00mm needles and 1 pair 3.50mm needles; (straight or circular) or size to obtain correct tension; a cable needle; yarn needle for sewing seam and weaving in ends.
